Love of Prophet ﷺ
The love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is an essential part of faith. This love resides in our hearts based on the belief and conviction that he ﷺ is Allah's final prophet and our guide, who showed us the path of truth and righteousness. In the Holy Quran, Allah has made it clear that those who love Allah must love and follow the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

There are many aspects of love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ:
1. Following
Loving the Prophet ﷺ means to follow his Sunnah and teachings, as he ﷺ taught us the best way to live. Following him brings us closer to Allah and keeps us on the right path.
2. Acting upon his teachings
Love for the Messenger ﷺ encourages us to adopt his character, truthfulness, honesty, patience, and compassion in our lives.
3. Sending blessings and peace
Sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ is an act that strengthens our love for him ﷺ. Allah Himself has commanded us to send blessings upon him.
4. Respect and loyalty
Loving the Prophet ﷺ requires that we honor him, cannot tolerate any disrespect toward him, and always keep his status high in our hearts.
5. Spreading his message
Love for him ﷺ motivates us to convey his teachings and message to others and to inform the world about the true message of Islam.
Love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ brings us closer to Allah and teaches us the values of excellent character, humanity, and sacrifice in every aspect of life. This love is the key to success in both this world and the Hereafter.
Allah says:
"Only those are the believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger and then doubt not but strive with their properties and their lives in the cause of Allah. It is those who are the truthful."
Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 15
This verse defines a true believer as one who has firm faith in Allah and His Messenger, free from doubts, and who struggles in the path of Allah with his life and wealth. Such people are sincere in their faith in the sight of Allah.
Allah says:
"Say (O Prophet ﷺ), if you love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."
Surah Aal-e-Imran, verse 31
In this verse, Allah has made it clear that anyone who truly claims to love Allah must follow the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. By following the Prophet ﷺ, one attains Allah's love, and Allah forgives one's sins. Allah is immensely Forgiving and Merciful towards His servants.
Therefore, we should follow the Messenger ﷺ, adhere to his Sunnah, read and understand his Hadith, and revive his practices. This is part of our faith, and it is the main point. Until the Messenger ﷺ is pleased with us, we cannot become true believers. Thus, we should follow the Messenger ﷺ diligently.
Love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is an essential part of faith, and the best way to prove this love is to follow his teachings and Sunnah. The Prophet ﷺ himself explained this love and described how a believer should love him.
In an important Hadith, the Prophet ﷺ said:
Narrated by Anas رضي الله عنه , that the Prophet ﷺ said: "None of you will have (complete) faith until I am more beloved to him than his father, his child, and all people."
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No: 15)
This Hadith teaches us that love for the Messenger ﷺ means that we hold him dearer than our lives, wealth, children, parents, and every relationship. The practical way to express this love is by following his path, adopting his Sunnah, and acting upon his commands.
Another Hadith states:
Narrated by Abdullah bin Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ said:
"Whoever revives my Sunnah at a time when my Ummah has become corrupt, he will have the reward of a hundred martyrs."
(Tirmidhi, Hadith No: 2677)
This Hadith makes it clear that an important aspect of love for the Messenger ﷺ is keeping his Sunnah alive, especially in times when people have forgotten it or abandoned its practice. True love for him ﷺ is proven when we adopt his ways and make his commands a part of our lives.
This is the genuine love that brings us closer to Allah and serves as a means for success in the Hereafter.
اللهم مُصَرِّفَ الْقُلُوْبِ صَرِّفْ قُلُوْبَنَا عَلَى طَاعتِكَ
O Allah! Controller of the hearts, direct our hearts to Your obedience
Ameen.
